These yukon gold potatoes are all we have left in our cold storage room. We have also been hungrily eating from our supply of cold-storage, canned, and frozen garden produce. It is so good to have a taste of summer. Our garden was small but productive. The following is a list of produce I put up from our garden, a local strawberry patch, a work garden, and our parents apple trees.
2009
2 quarts peas, frozen
1 pint rhubarb, frozen
14 quarts strawberries, frozen
1 quart spinach, frozen
2 quart raspberries, frozen
5 quart green beans, frozen
2 quart snap peas, frozen
2 quart cherry tomatoes, frozen
12 pints corn, off the cob, frozen
9 ears corn, on the cob, frozen
2 quarts carrots, frozen
1 large box red potatoes, cold-storage
1 large box yukon gold potaotes, cold-storage
7 pints salsa, canned
32 quarts apple juice, steamed and canned
4 quarts refrigerator pickles
7 quarts dill pickles, canned
10 quarts whole tomatoes, canned
7 pints tomato sauce, canned
1 bag onions
1 handful garlic
1 quart dried oregano
1 quart dried parsley
1 gallon bag apple fruit leather, frozen
1 bag onions
1 handful garlic
1 quart dried oregano
1 quart dried parsley
1 gallon bag apple fruit leather, frozen
It was an exhausting fall, putting up all that food, but it sure tastes good now. I am looking forward to next years garden. The produce I put up is good, but I miss the fresh lettuce, garden peas, and sun-warmed tomatoes.
