Ok, so I've been an avid recycler for years. I recycle everything our local center will take, which is nearly everything. I compost our kitchen scraps and we have very little garbage. I gradually began to realize though that I wasn't so good at the reduce and reuse. Oh, I use canvas bags when we shop and I reuse any plastic bags we cannot avoid, but I began to wonder how I could have less recycling. That's when it hit me that we were receiving all these catalogs that would go directly into the recycling pile, what a waste. I logged onto the website of one of the catalogs and found that I could request to be taken off their mailing list. The majority of the catalogs we have received this month I was able to request that no catalog be sent in the future. It took a bit of searching on some of the sites, but the time was worth it if I can prevent resources from being wasted.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

I should really do this too. My stack of catalogs is about 8 inches high currently, worried I won't have a place to put them soon. Wonderful idea.
