My husband and I love to have a yogurt or kefir smoothies on Sunday mornings, so we make sure we stock up on berries during berry season. On the way home from the cabin we stopped to pick up berries to freeze for next winter.
We were able to buy raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries at a very good price. As soon as we got home I washed the berries and placed them on a towel on a pan and froze them. That way when I placed them in the freezer containers they would not freeze into one mass.
I measured out 2 cups of berries and placed them in freezer containers, labeled the container and put them in the deep freezer for smoothies, breads, crisps, and muffins this winter. It almost makes me look forward to snowy winter, almost, but I'm not quite ready for that yet.

Hey, how cool! We always have a mass of strawberries that I end up pounding against the counter to break up for smoothies. Freeze on sheets! Duh. :) I found your blog through Abi.
