The spinach and
the lettuce will be providing us with many salads starting next week.
We will have heirloom radishes to eat with that salad,
and soon cherry tomatoes.
The onions are falling all over themselves they've grown so tall,
the tomatoes will need to be tied up for support this weekend,
as will the sunflowers.
The Yukon Gold potatoes are blooming. They are such an early potato, I like to have both these and red potaotes which will be ready later.
We have had fresh strawberries to pick every day.
The rhubarb I transplanted is growing nicely and I may be able to pick some of it this weekend, I hope to make rhubarb juice with this and some from my grandmother's plants. The tomato seedlings I had are growing well, as are a couple of volunteer tomato plants. The blueberry bushes have lots of green berries on them, hopefully the birds leave a few for us.

Your garden is laid out in such a nice way- it is so neat and tidy! Well done!

ReplyDeletehappy sunday:)
Is that normal for the onions to fall over? I planted a bunch this year and about half are flopped over. Will they keep growing? I am just not sure about it all! Great blog... thanks for keeping it!
ReplyDeleteYes, that is normal. In fact once they get that tall they should be bent over and stepped on to stop the growth from going into the green and allow the growth to go into the bulb instead. A couple of mine will bloom soon, so I will pick the blossom off and step them over.
ReplyDeleteAh! Thanks!!! I was just a little alarmed. Great blog!
